Emily Thornberry Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury
Dear Friends,
For three years, we’ve been discussing the terrible war in Yemen and the desperate humanitarian crisis it has caused. And for much of that time, I’ve been angry at the failure of the UK government to bring forward a resolution at the UN to tackle those crises.
But recent events have forced their hand, and today, we are finally due to see a UK resolution. It could and should be a turning point in the conflict, but only if the Foreign Office gets it right. So I’ve written an article for The Independent today on what the resolution needs to say. You can read my article here.
Best wishes,
Emily
