Emily Thornberry Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury
Dear Friends,
The Guardian asked me to write an article for today’s paper, in advance of tomorrow’s centenary of 8.4 million British women gaining the right to vote. They asked me to talk about how I first learned about the Suffragette movement, and what I believe it means today. You can read my article here.
Please let me have your thoughts, particularly if you want to share your own memories of learning about the Suffragettes and how you think we can best celebrate their legacy.
Best wishes,
Emily
