Emily Thornberry Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury
Dear Friends,
Many of you will have seen the appalling and distressing footage of the aftermath of Saturday’s bomb attack in Kabul, which killed more than 100 innocent civilians. It is part of a wave of recent terror attacks in Afghanistan by the Taliban and Daesh, further proof – if any were needed – that by far the largest victims of Jihadist terror are Muslims, and that there are no depths of depravity to which the terrorists will not sink.
We had an Urgent Question on the situation in Parliament yesterday, and I used my two minutes to send a message of solidarity to the Afghan people, and ask the government questions on its response. You can see my short statement below.
Best wishes,
Emily
