Islington is in mourning following the tragic death of 15 year old Alan Cartwright, who was fatally stabbed last Friday while riding his bike with friends.

CCTV footage showed a group of three young men attacking Alan and, though he tried to cycle away, he collapsed shortly after.

Following an appeal by Alan’s family, 2 arrests have been made although police enquiries continue.

I have written to Alan’s mother.

This horrific crime has shaken the entire community and it is imperative that the perpetrators be brought to justice as soon as possible.

We all hold our children a little closer when such senseless tragedies happen.

There are people in the local community -; parents as well as children -; who know what happened. They must come forward for the sake of Alan’s family and for the sake of us all. We must stick together and totally reject this senseless, barbaric violence.
