Today I grilled the Attorney General, Dominic Grieve, over what actions he will be taking over allegations of bribery and corruption at defence contractor GPT.

At Attorney General’s questions, I asked Grieve whether he would be ordering a full investigation into claims brought by Lt. Col Ian Foxley that GPT had been operating an £11.5 million fund for “kickbacks” to high profile Saudi nationals.

In 2006 when BAE was under investigation, Dominic Grieve was insistent that it should be the SFO alone who would decide whether a prosecution should go ahead.

So all eyes will now be on the Attorney General to see if he keeps his word.
