Emily Thornberry Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury
Emily Thornberry MP opened The Children’s Society’s first ever central London charity shop in Clerkenwell today.
Like The Children’s Society shops up and down the country, the newest addition -; in Farringdon Road – promises to be an Aladdin’s Cave for Islington’s bargain hunters.
Emily Thornberry MP said:
“I am always pleased to support the Children’s Society in their work, I even shared an Igloo with Nick Clegg for them! I wish their new shop in Clerkenwell the best of luck”
The Children’s Society’s Chief Executive, Bob Reitemeier, said:
“We’re delighted our local MP, Emily Thornberry, has come to open the shop for us. This is the first time The Children’s Society has had a shop in the heart of London. The shop is the perfect place to hunt for basics and be inspired by unusual pieces.”
“We really want this shop to become an integral part of the local area. Whether people donate items or buy goods, we really want people to help us. More than anything, we would like volunteers to come forward to help us run the shop. There’s always plenty to do, from sorting new donations to dressing the shop window.”
