My work with the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group

I was chair of the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group from June 2005 until July 2008 and I continue to be involved as Vice Chair of the group. Since that time we've lobbied for improvements for cyclists across London and the UK. I cycle to work virtually every day - it's the quickest way to get to Westminster from Islington as well as being a green and healthy means of transport.

Cycling in London is growing fast, up 83% since 2000. The more cyclists there are on the roads, the safer we all are - and that's certainly been seen in London where there's been a 50% reduction in the casualty rate amongst cyclists since the 1990s.
