The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, is testing new environmentally-friendly green hybrid buses for London.

These buses cut fuel use by almost a half and cut noise levels dramatically.

Islington roads like Upper Street, Caledonian Road and Essex Road are some of the noisiest and most polluted in London. The level of poisonous gas nitrogen dioxide in Islington is up to 50% above EU air pollution limits1.

Green buses are part of the solution.

Emily Thornberry is working with your Labour councillors and local residents to make sure Islington benefits first from greener, quieter buses.

We need your support to ask Ken Livingstone to put the first round of green buses on routes in Islington.

Green Buses in numbers...

  • Greenhouse gas CO2 cut by 38%
  • Polluting exhaust particles cut by 90%
  • Poisonous nitrogen oxides cut by 89%
  • New battery system uses 40% less fuel
  • Noise levels cut by a third
