With a crowd of 30 and a petition of over 2,700, the protest centred on Network Rail's plans to evict the small businesses from their pitches - inlcluding a coffee kiosk, a flower stall, and newsagent Harendra Bhatt who has sold papers outside the station for more than 20 years.
The small businesses have been told they must leave the forecourt of Highbury & Islington station to make way for improvement works - even though these works have now been put on hold.
Once evicted, the local traders will have to bid to have their space back in a competitive tender - raising the prospect that they will be easily out-bid by chains like Starbucks.
Emily handed in the petition to Network Rail boss Ian Croucher and made her plea to officials who came down to witness the protest. She said:
"If Network Rail wants to improve Highbury Corner that's fine, but that should involve listening. We don't understand why it's an improvement to get rid of small businesses who are serving the community, some of them for 20 years."
The campaign has also attracted support from Mayor of London Boris Johnson and the leader of Islington Council. If you would like more information about Emily's campaign, please contact Emily through the details under the "Get In Touch" button above.
