Emily Thornberry has nominated Indian Veg in Chapel Market for the 2007 Tiffin Cup, which is given to the best South Asian restaurant in the country. The Islington based restaurant will be battling it out with the best South Asian restaurants from across the UK for the award.
Emily said:
"Indian Veg is an institution in Islington it's an excellent restaurant serving tasty vegetarian Indian food at great value prices .I don't know anyone who has been there that hasn't fallen in love with the place and its food."
Over the next few months the restaurant will be assessed for service, quality of food and ambiance by a mystery judge. Ten restaurants will be short listed and invited for a cook-in at the House of Commons. The finalist will be judged by five celebrity chefs to decide the overall winner of the 2007 Tiffin Cup.
Mr Safa, owner of Indian Veg said:
‘I am delighted to have this support from our MP. I invite everyone in Islington to my restaurant to see why Emily Thornberry has nominated Indian Veg for this award.'
