Emily determined to make sure residents' voices are heard

Emily Thornberry - equipped with hard hat and site boots - visited the Market Estate yesterday to check up on how the rebuilding work is coming along. Emily is determined to make sure that residents' voices are heard as the estate is rebuilt.

Emily was impressed by the progress on rebuilding the Market. She was pleased that Southern Housing seems to be listening to local people's concerns. However, Emily has promised to keep a check on the work as it continues.

Emily said:

"I am glad that our Labour Government is improving housing for local people. But I want to keep a check on the housing associations and the council to make sure that residents are listened to and get a fair deal"

She has asked any constituents who want to get in touch with her about the rebuilding of the Market Estate or any other in her constituency to call 0207 697 9307 on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, between 2 - 5pm or email emilythornberrymp@parliament.uk
